The love of mothers, the ache they feel in wanting their children's lives to go well for them, is one image we find in the Bible for God's love for us.  An elderly neighbor once showed me the depths of a mothers love--as well as the depths of a mother's heartache. And such examples help us gain insight into the kind of love God has for us.
