We celebrate Christ's gift of Love at Christmas. We do experience warm, loving feelings associated with Christmas: familiar carols, decorated trees, children opening presents, hot apple cider. And Jesus of course delights in our feelings of love. But he emphasizes that the way to eternal feelings of warmth and love is by doing the loving thing, even when it's difficult. We act lovingly...and by the grace of God our loving feelings come in time.
