Passage: Matthew 25: 14-28

In Jesus's parable of the servants who were given talents, two of the servants are commended for bearing fruit with what they were given. The master in the parable then offers very specific words to them, “Now enter into the JOY of your master.” This specific, if odd wording, gives us insight into the nature of true, Christian joy: We share in Christ's joyful outlook when Christ looks upon us. The implications for our own self-identity are profound. And as with the themes of hope and peace, we find that obedience to Christ is key to receiving the fruit of spiritual joy in our life.
