God's first recorded message to the family of Joseph, Mary, and Joseph was to flee their home in the middle of the night and travel to Egypt. Matthew's Gospel tells us that this was to fulfill the prophecy, "Out of Egypt I have called my Son." But what is so important about fulfilling this prophecy? What was God trying to accomplish? As with most all of God's plans for us, God is weaving people's stories together in unimaginably creative ways, bringing redemption to our lives in ways we could never anticipate.
