We explore in this sermon the significance of that day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was poured out on God's people, enabling them to be the Church of Christ. We find that Pentecost is not merely a point in time of the Holy Spirit's outpouring, but rather the beginning of an era of the Spirit. This final era in God's history with his people was anticipated and talked about in numerous places throughout the Holy Spirit. And while we cannot control the Spirit, we can certainly invite and welcome the Spirit's activity in our lives .
